Host Suzanne Toro of the KarmaDharma Radio with Suzanne podcast, brings April showers in the form of interviews with inspiring artists and agents of change. Week one, Toro interviews former PussyCat Doll, Carmit Bachar, about Operation Smile and loving yourself. Week two introduces Apl.de.Ap, of the Black Eyed Peas, sharing his vision about giving back to his former home, the Philippines. Week three brings “Be the Cause’s” Sukh Chugh into the limelight, discussing his service vacation to the Lakota Reservation in South Dakota and how to “Be the Cause.” Lastly, Toro interviews Tamsin Smith of Project Red about her love for humanity and her vision for her new company, SlipStreamStrategy.
Toro’s interview with Visionary Carmit Bachar highlights her work in creating the non-profit, Smile With Me, for children and adults with cleft palates, something she knows from first-hand experience. Bachar shares the details of her upcoming mission to Peru, her new e-book and her commitment to her new solo music. Bachar has been around the world performing as a rhythmic gymnast and dancer. She has been on stage with various rock performers but has been most profoundly impacted by her work with Operation Smile.
During week two, the host checks in with Apl.de.Ap of the Black Eyed Peas about his former home, The Philippines, and his commitment to giving back through education, history and environment. Apl is a Filipino-American, hip hop musician and music producer. who is the oldest of seven children. Toro’s interview highlights his compassion for his homeland and his gratitude for the life he has been able to live in the U.S. He has founded a non-profit that annually gifts his home community to benefit poor children, and he continues to tell his story artistically in his music, together with the Peas and also as a solo-artist.
Week three Toro chats with Sukh Chugh, founder of Be the Cause, about how to be the cause by being in service. Recently he took a service vacation to an Indian reservation and shares the story to compel others to work in service. Finally, during week four, Tamsin Smith shares her love for humanity and her vision for Project Red and her new company, SlipStreamStrategy. Smith founded the company in early 2009 with the vision of helping good people turn good ideas into realities that matter to the world.
